Elect Travis Stolley for Boundary County Sheriff

Expect more, Vote Travis Stolley for results and accountability.

Thanks again for taking the time to check out this page and my campaign.

I am dedicated to serving and have done so in some capacity over the last twenty plus years. I have lived my entire life in Boundary County outside of the nearly nine years I spent on active duty in the Marine Corps. I have worked in the Schools as a School Resource Officer and as a Detective for the Boundary County Sheriff’s Office.  I have worked at both the Bonners Ferry Police Department and the Boundary County Sheriff’s Office. I believe my experience leading Marines as a Staff Sergeant in the Marine Corps along with my experience working for both agencies, uniquely qualifies me to understand what it takes to work hand in hand to serve the citizens of Boundary County.

My wife and I have worked side by side running our own business and farming over the last several years. This has provided me with the opportunity to gain experience project managing, multi-tasking and working with larger budget projects. I enjoy the peace of mind farming provides me and often use it as an outlet from the stresses of life. If elected Sheriff I will work hard every day towards keeping Boundary County prepared and safe from crime. I believe a proactive approach to Law Enforcement is vital in keeping the public safe.

I have developed my platform from a combination of these firsthand experiences and more. I know what it is like to respond to high risk dangerous calls with a BFPD Officer or a Border Patrol Agent coming to assist. I understand the importance of training together and having a working relationship with these professional agencies. I have worked in administrations and commands where a good leader is the difference between men and women being able to perform at their best or their worst. I have made great choices as a leader and failed but one driving principle in my life has been to try and never make the same mistakes twice.

The bullet points I am outlining here are just a few other principles
that I truly believe in and will implement as your Sheriff.

Accountability

Honesty

Transparency

Work Ethic

Working Together

Accountability

Law Enforcement is held to a high standard, as they should be. When that standard or expectation is not met, there should be accountability. In my experience the lack of accountability tends to bring down the overall performance of the agency. A Sheriff is accountable to the citizens, and I will always do my best to communicate the bad along with the good.

Honesty

It should go without saying but I have zero tolerance for dishonesty. I will uphold that standard without exception.

Transparency

I will bring transparency to our department by being open to questions from the community and honest when it comes to answering them.

Work Ethic

I will bring a work ethic and professionalism and expect the same from those in my charge. The Sheriff is responsible for drivers licensing, search and rescue, waterways, civil division, dispatch, as well as detention, patrol and investigative functions. That is a huge service provided to the community.

Working Together

I will work hard to bring our local agencies and our community together. These agencies need to have a solid relationship built on the foundation of mutual respect and trust.

I look forward to the opportunity to talk with anyone about why I believe I am the best candidate for Boundary County Sheriff.
